Bangkok Invites Residents to Turn Waste into Value at “No Mixed Waste” Event on April 8

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), in collaboration with partner networks, is organizing the “Magic Hands on Tour x This House Doesn’t Mix Waste” event to encourage people to turn waste into value. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Bangkok City Hall (Sao Chingcha, Dinso Road side), aiming to promote proper waste separation at the source and inspire urban residents to be more environmentally conscious.

The event features a variety of highlights, including the purchase of all types of recyclable waste, provided they are clean and dry. Participants can choose to sell their recyclables for income or donate them for further use. In addition, combustible waste will be processed into energy in an environmentally controlled system.

Another key activity is the exchange of used cooking oil, where 1 liter of used oil can be traded for 250 milliliters of new cooking oil, or sold at a competitive price. The first 20 participants will receive exclusive souvenirs from the campaign.

The event will also accept donations of used underwear for both men and women, including swimwear, socks, and undershirts from any brand. Donors will receive a limited-edition eco-friendly tote bag.

For those interested in reducing waste management costs, attendees can register for the “BKK WASTE PAY” application to receive discounts on waste collection fees. Participants will also receive a “Trash Partition” device to help separate household waste. Additionally, there will be educational sessions on waste sorting by experts, along with fun activities and prize giveaways.

The “No Mixed Waste” initiative represents another important step by the BMA toward sustainable waste management, encouraging public participation in both environmental protection and everyday economic benefits.

The program will continue throughout the year, with upcoming events scheduled between May and September 2026.
