Bangkok Transforms Waste into Energy, Reducing Landfill with On Nut Plant

The waste-to-energy power plant project at the On Nut Waste Disposal Center, with a capacity of no less than 1,000 tons per day, has now reached 86.89% completion. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is closely monitoring progress, with system testing scheduled to begin on March 20, 2026. The project utilizes stoker-type incineration technology to convert waste into electricity, generating approximately 30 megawatts of power. It aims to reduce landfill waste and improve the city’s waste management efficiency, with full completion expected in 2026.
