Bangkok Tightens Industrial Emission Controls, Mandates Real-Time CEMS Installation

Bangkok is set to enforce stricter air pollution control measures by requiring large industrial factories to install Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS). These systems continuously monitor emissions from factory stacks 24/7 and transmit data to government authorities in real time.

The initiative aims to reduce PM2.5 pollution and strengthen environmental oversight in urban areas. The regulation is expected to take effect in 2026, covering more than 150 major factories across Bangkok.

By implementing CEMS, authorities will be able to monitor emissions more effectively, enhance transparency, and improve public confidence in environmental protection over the long term.
