Thailand Pushes EV Industry & Green Investments to Align with Carbon Neutral Goals ⚡🌱
Mr. Ekanat Promphan, Minister of Industry, alongside Mr. Phasakorn Chairat, Director of the Office of Industrial Economics, and senior ministry officials, attended the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee Meeting (1/2024), chaired by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
The Prime Minister outlined two key policies during the meeting:
1️⃣ Promoting Green Industry & Clean Energy
- The government is committed to environmentally friendly industrial investment.
- Aligning with carbon neutrality goals, Thailand aims to transition to sustainable vehicle production.
2️⃣ Accelerating the Electric Vehicle (EV) Industry
- Enhancing technological development and manufacturing capabilities.
- Supporting workforce development to strengthen EV-related industries.
- Encouraging investment incentives and fostering a sustainable EV ecosystem.
The Board of Investment (BOI) Secretary-General, Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, will later present updates on the EV Policy Committee’s resolutions and the National Semiconductor & Advanced Electronics Policy Committee’s progress.
