Tensions in the Middle East have intensified after Saudi Arabia’s Ras Tanura oil refinery, one of the world’s key oil production and export hubs with a capacity of 550,000 barrels per day, was targeted by kamikaze drones. Although Saudi forces intercepted two drones, debris fell داخل the facility, causing a limited fire and prompting authorities to temporarily suspend operations to assess the damage. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
The incident is widely seen as retaliation by Iran following major military operations by the United States and Israel over the weekend. Concerns over potential disruptions to global oil supply pushed world oil prices up by around 10%, as fears grow that the conflict could spread further across the Gulf region.
